A One-Day Journey from CBD Belapur to Nashik – A Tight but Memorable Travel Experience
Date: 07 March 2026
Route: CBD Belapur → Thane → Kasara → Nashik → Return to CBD Belapur
Total Travel Time: Approximately 11 hours 50 minutes
Traveling across Maharashtra using local trains, shared cabs, and buses can sometimes turn into an adventure. On 07 March 2026, I had to make a quick one-day trip from CBD Belapur to Nashik and return the same day. Despite delays, tight connections, and long waits, the journey turned out to be both challenging and enjoyable.
Starting the Journey from CBD Belapur
My journey started early in the morning.
-
09:18 AM: I parked my scooty at CBD Belapur station and walked to the ticket counter.
-
09:23 AM: Purchased a return ticket from CBD Belapur to Kasara for ₹70.
At 09:39 AM, I boarded a train from CBD Belapur heading towards the harbour line.
I reached Nerul station at 09:46 AM. At that moment, I noticed a Nerul–Thane train which was originally scheduled at 09:29 AM but was running late and had just started moving.
Since the train had already started moving, I decided to catch it at the next station, Juinagar.
Normally:
-
Harbour line trains cover Nerul to Juinagar in about 5 minutes
-
Nerul–Thane trains cover the same distance in about 6 minutes
Because of this small timing difference, I successfully caught the Nerul–Thane train at Juinagar station.
Using M-Indicator for Planning
After boarding the train, I installed the M-Indicator mobile application to check train schedules.
According to the app:
-
Thane to Kasara Fast Train: 10:17 AM
-
Platform: 5
Our train reached Thane station at 10:05 AM, giving me enough time to change platforms.
Waiting at Thane Railway Station
I moved to Platform 5, but the Kasara Fast train scheduled for 10:17 AM was delayed and finally arrived at 10:47 AM.
While waiting for the train, I bought some snacks:
-
Hide & Seek biscuits – ₹27
-
Lemon drink bottle – ₹20
-
Samosa Pav – ₹15
After a long wait, I boarded the Thane–Kasara Fast train.
During the journey, I even purchased sunglasses for ₹100 from a vendor inside the train.
Finally, the train reached Kasara station at 11:57 AM.
If I had missed this train, the next train was scheduled for 10:57 AM, which was also running late.
Rush for Shared Cabs at Kasara
When I got down at Kasara station, I saw many people running. Initially, I was confused, but soon realized they were running to get shared cabs to Nashik.
I quickly joined the rush and managed to secure a shared cab with a front seat.
-
Cab fare: ₹150
If I had walked slowly, I might have lost the front seat and ended up paying ₹200 instead.
The cab journey took about 1 hour 30 minutes, and I reached Nashik at around 1:30 PM.
Reaching Dwarka Hotel and Traveling to Panch
One of the passengers in the cab wanted to go to the Nashik Bus Depot, but he was the only passenger heading there. The driver arranged another cab for him, which caused a 30-minute delay.
Finally, at 2:00 PM, I reached Dwarka Hotel in Nashik.
There I had:
-
Lassi – ₹20
-
Water bottle – ₹20
After that, I took an auto for ₹200 to reach:
Madhavrao Ramchandra Borde Hospital, Panch Nashik
I reached there at 2:40 PM.
Waiting for the Person
I was supposed to meet a person at 3:00 PM, but unfortunately his phone was switched off.
There were no food stalls nearby, and I was already feeling very hungry. I had to survive on the biscuits and water I had purchased earlier.
Finally, the person arrived at 4:30 PM, and my work was completed.
Starting the Return Journey
At 4:45 PM, I started my return journey by auto to the Mumbai Bus Station in Nashik.
After freshening up, I boarded a bus at 5:15 PM.
The bus dropped me at Umbermali station at 6:40 PM.
Catching the Kasara–CST Train
The Kasara–CST train was scheduled at 6:17 PM from Kasara, which should reach Umbermali at around 6:22 PM.
Fortunately, the train was running late, so I was able to catch it.
If I had missed it, the next train from Kasara was at 7:15 PM, which would have delayed my return significantly.
Final Leg: Thane to CBD Belapur
The train reached Thane station at 8:05 PM, which was late compared to its scheduled time of 7:51 PM.
I was worried that I might miss the Thane–Panvel train scheduled at 8:17 PM.
Luckily, that train was also running late and arrived at 8:20 PM.
I boarded the train and finally reached CBD Belapur at 9:10 PM.
If I had missed this train, I would have had to pay double parking charges for my scooty.

Despite delays, running between platforms, waiting for people, and managing tight schedules, the journey turned out to be exciting and memorable.
Sometimes the most hectic travel days become the most interesting stories.
